A pilot creative session for those wishing to delve deeper into being a creative.

I am planning to pilot a group collaboration event to allow us creative types to explore our inner creativity using a mix of creative activities with elements of personal exploration and grounding. The purpose of this experimental session is to go beneath the practical aspect of being a creative and to ask questions such as - Who am I as a creative, what am I looking to achieve, and why ?

This small group session comprising a minimum of 6 and maximum of 8 is aimed at those either wishing to explore their own inner creativity or those looking to connect with their current art practice with a more holistic approach. The aim is to simply to have some fun by bringing together a group of like minded folk of various levels to inspire each other where my role is to be facilitator rather than instructor.

Practices may include drawing, painting, mixed media, photography and sculpture working from ideas, still life, portrait and reference images with an option for figure drawing if interest allows.

A key element will be the informal practical elements being interspersed with short discussions and some personal reflection exercises including light meditation and an intro to breathwork. No previous experiences needed.

The venue for this initial pilot will be the visual art studio at Birnam Arts on Friday 7th March 2025, this is a non commercial community event, depending on the outcomes from the pilot future sessions may use alternative locations. The event is free to attend where everyone will be asked to provide some materials and offer formal feedback after the event.

Further details of the session and required materials will be made available early Feb.

At this stage I just need an idea of interest in the event.

Update : Interest has been amazing and now have a full session. Happy for folk to go on a reserve list in case others can’t make it or for future sessions.
